I have more than 14 years solid programming experience and have developed numerous applications since 1989 using Visual Basic, Delphi, PHP & MySQL, ASP, VB.Net and Java. Below are some of the applications that was developed. A more detailed list of projects with screen captures are available on the Computec website.

1993
Develop CatStat (Computer Assisted Training in Statistics). Written in Visual Basic 3, the application simulated statistical theories. It was used to teach student statistical concepts. Some of simulations are still in use today.

1995
The Flowtra Reader is used to accumulate flowdata from so-called flowloggers. It incorporates a microprocessor with memory. The Flowtra application communicates with the microprocessor and can download readings from it. The data is stored in a Access database and can be charted or edited in a grid.

1996
The Hand Penetrometer sample soil density at certain depths. This data are downloaded to the HPen application. The new 32 bit version was distributed early 2002.

1997
The Remote Data Storage Unit (RDSU) application was developed as a research project. The program is part of the products developed by LEOCell. The main product is the so-called LEOCell hybrid communicator that is used for remote data acquisition using low earth orbit satellites or the GSM network. The GSM version of the application can call the RDSU via the cellular network. The remote unit communicate with the application and can be configured or asked for data. The RDSU application is now used world-wide.

1999
The Jockey Colours application was written for the official horse racing jockey club of Southern Africa. It enables them to create the colours and patterns of the uniforms of the thousands of registered racing jockeys. The interface is very visual and interactive. The patterns are generated dynamically from Enhanced Metafile templates and are overlaid to create lossless scale-able images that can be exported or printed. The unique colour and pattern coding of each jokey is stored in a SQL database and this also enable duplicate checking.

2001
Cities Online. This website is another venture launched by Computec. The website enables local businesses to advertise and host their business homepage in their specific town in South Africa. The website is written completely in PHP and incorporates an online homepage creation toolkit, SA city map automatically generated from city GPS co-ordinates, dynamic menu buttons, complete database editors, user authentication, automatic search engine submission, an administration area, e-mail notifications, etc.

2001-2002
EchoFilter digital audio filter software was written in Delphi 5. It is another private business initiative. EchoFilter uses the soundcard of a PC to process incoming audio signals in real-time. It incorporates the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and inverse FFT to sample and filter audio signals. The mathematics is quite advanced and 99% of the code was written from theoretical research. This is a very specialised tool used by radio HAMS, hobbyists, researchers, scientists and students in the DSP field. It's uses include weak signal detection, surveillance, audio cleanup, SETI operations, etc. It is sold world-wide from the computecsa website.

1994-2002
Programming embedded devices. The PIC16C84 is a programmable microprocessor. It can be programmed in assembler or with higher level languages like C. Applications include a car alarm immobilizer, a temperature sensor with LCD readout, a thermostat, and a PLL controlled UHF receiver with LCD readout and programmable frequencies with band scanning capabilities.

2003
CoolBrowser is a Internet Explorer plugin. It takes web browsing to a new level. Some of the feature include (a) adding notes and highlighting any part of an online document, (b) copy or filter certain part of an online document. The application in currently in alpha stage.

2003-2004
Varsite Learning Management System. Project manager and system developer of a leading local web based e-learning platform. Development continued and I am working on this project a a consultant for iT3-Education Systems.

2003-2005
